Personal TrainerRobyn is a qualified personal trainer, with a passion for the outdoors. Her passion for rehabilitative fitness came from when she broke her back snowboarding. On her back and in rehabilitation for months on end, she felt quite disillusioned with her life. “I guess I realised how quickly one’s life can change and how important it is to appreciate every moment that we have, and to be passionate about what we do. It was this change in my life that pushed me into the fitness scene. My dream is to encourage “well-being” within individuals by showing them how to love exercise, particularly with the amazing outdoor facilities and beauty we have in Cape Town. I am passionate about exercise – there is nothing more satisfying than completing a great outdoor trail run, or a good walk in the forest to keep both one’s body and mind sane!” |
If, like me, you find that most gyms are too sterile then it is time to take your exercise outdoors in the natural splendour of our beautiful city.
I am a qualified personal trainer and my passion lies with the outdoors, and with taking exercise back to nature. I strongly believe that an exercise regime which works out the body and that also uplifts the soul is incredibly important to our well being. My routine takes me out of the gym and into the forests, mountains and beaches of Cape Town.
My sessions are all outdoor based and include a cardio warm-up (usually in the form of walking, or running, for those that would like to), strength training using body weight, bands, balls, and small weights, in order to cover all major muscle groups, and a cool-down.
I offer both personal training and group fitness sessions. Details are specified below:
1) Individualised personal training sessions include:
- An initial fitness testing and lifestyle screening appointment, which includes a basic medical screening, fitness testing and goal setting, where we discuss your personal exercise preferences in order to design the most appropriate training sessions to suit your needs
- One-on-one outdoor based sessions, which include cardio, and functional strength training, using weights, balls and therabands, focusing on those areas that best fit your specific needs.
- A final assessment at the end of the set of personalised sessions to review progress and re-assess goals going forward
- A gym program if applicable to the client’s needs
2) Group fitness classes include:
- An initial fitness testing and lifestyle screening appointment, which includes a basic medical screening, fitness testing and goal setting
- Outdoor based training sessions with groups of max 6 people, which include functional cardio, and strength training, using weights, balls and therabands

Additional sessions, and locations will be added as interest grows, please let me know if none of the above sessions suit your needs.
If you would like to try out one of the group classes, there is no fee for the initial session - please just let me know which class you will be attending. I would love you to come and see how uplifting a good training session done under a canopy of trees can be!!!
